ABOUT AMIE

Amie is an expert at helping anyone learn to play the piano. Traditionally trained, she felt limited by her classical background and wished she could play the music she loved with more freedom. She began studying with Tony Parlapiano, the creator of popMATICS, and a whole new world opened up to her. popMATICS transformed her piano playing and teaching. Now, as the only popMATICS teacher in the area, Amie helps her students develop their own musical style and skills.

Her superpower is creating lesson experiences that make learning fun. She loves working with quirky, creative, energetic students, and those who haven’t succeeded in traditional lessons.

She and her husband have three grown children and one Goldendoodle named Sherlock.

Piano Lessons For All Levels

Beginner

I specialize in giving students a great start by learning through fun! Lessons include on and off-bench activities like games, improvising, sketching and drawing music, listening, rhythm activities and more.

Intermediate

I’ll teach you how to play the music you love! Through listening and understanding how music is made, you’ll be able to level up your note reading and improvising.

Advanced

I can help you take your playing to the next level! popMATICS offers a new way to utilize what you know, make new connections, and give you more freedom at the piano.

What is popMATICS?

popMATICS was created by Tony Parlapiano, a piano instructor in Massachusetts. His method focuses on learning through listening, creating, and understanding. I’ve studied with Tony for years, and popMATICS has given me the freedom and creativity I always wanted. It’s transformed my playing and
